About Our Trustees

Chris Shuter

Since retiring in my mid-fifties I have concentrated on volunteering in the community, working with a number of charities and community groups, with particular emphasis on inclusion and social justice.

I was on the original group who brought Bags of Blessings from an idea into reality, which has been very hard work at times but has always been my pleasure and my joy.

I am a happy wife of 1, a devoted mum of 2, a doting granny of 4, a committed Christian and I love to potter in my garden.

Cathy Stones

I joined Bags of Blessings in 2022 as a volunteer and have recently become a trustee.

I am married with a grown up son, daughter in law and two beautiful grandchildren. As they do not live locally I am able to devote some of my spare time to volunteering which I find very rewarding. I enjoy walking, gardening and meeting up with family and friends whenever I can.

Mike Shuter

I have been a volunteer with Bags of Blessings since it started, supporting my Wife, Chris, who is Chair of the Charity.
I took semi retirement two years ago and decided to devote more of my time to the Charity and became a Trustee in February 2025. Volunteering for Bags of Blessings is very rewarding, meeting new people, being a member of the team and making a difference to people’s lives. My interests include motor sport (especially Superbikes), and I like to spend time down The Lane supporting Notts County.

After donating some Christmas gift bags to my local food bank one year I found out about Bags of Blessings and wanted to get involved.

I volunteered with them for several years before coming on board as a trustee in 2022.

In my personal life I am married with a young son. I was a teacher for 12 years before giving it up to start my own business. I run a print company and own my own local party shop.

I learnt about Bags of Blessings through my church's wrapping session. I am so eager to support the charity's mission as a trustee. My favourite activities are spending time with my family, reading books and roller skating

I am looking forward to playing my part in the work of such an inspiring charity. I feel lucky to be supporting the work of  generous volunteers and donors who make such a positive impact on others. I currently work as a secondary school teacher and a part time life coach. I love cricket and now, my playing days are over, I am actively involved in coaching. I am married with two teenage children.
